Cookie-Richtlinie
Zuletzt aktualisiert: May 12, 2026 (rev. 2)
Diese Richtlinie ist derzeit nur auf Englisch veröffentlicht, während professionelle Übersetzungen vorbereitet werden. Bei Abweichungen zu künftigen Übersetzungen ist die englische Fassung maßgeblich.
This page lists the cookies and similar local-storage technologies the Sophonix site uses, what each is for, and how to control them. For the broader privacy picture see the Privacy policy.
What we use today
| Name | Type | Category | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
locale | First-party cookie | Strictly necessary | Remembers your language preference so the nginx geo-redirect respects your choice across visits. | 1 year |
sophonix-consent | localStorage entry | Strictly necessary | Stores your consent choice (categories accepted or rejected) and the policy version it was given against. | Until you clear it or revoke consent |
Both are first-party (we set them, no third party reads them). They are necessary for the site to function correctly. ePrivacy permits strictly-necessary storage without prior consent.
Analytics (opt-in)
If you grant Analytics consent in the banner, we load Umami, a privacy-first analytics tool that we self-host on the same infrastructure that serves this website. No third party is involved. Umami is cookieless by default — visitor identification is done server-side using a salted hash and is not used to build a persistent profile across sites. The Umami dashboard runs at analytics.sophonix.nl, accessible only to Sophonix administrators.
What Umami records: anonymized pageviews, the URL visited, the referrer (if any), the visitor's country (derived from IP — the IP itself is not stored), the device type and browser. It does not record names, emails, mouse movements, form contents, or any directly-identifying information.
Umami may set a small umami.disabledentry in your browser's localStorage only if you opt out via Umami's own do-not-track signal. No tracking cookies are set.
Marketing (not active)
The Marketing category exists in the consent banner but is not active today. We are not currently running any conversion or remarketing pixels (Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, or similar). When that changes, this section will be updated to name each vendor and the policy version will be bumped so existing visitors are re-prompted for consent.
How to control your choices
- The consent banner appears on your first visit. You can choose Accept all, Reject all, or Manage to pick per category.
- The “Manage cookies” link in the footer reopens the preferences modal at any time. You can withdraw consent there just as easily as you granted it.
- Your browser can also block cookies entirely — see your browser’s settings. Note that some site functions (like remembering your language) require the strictly-necessary cookie.
Withdrawal of consent
Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal. After withdrawal, the relevant trackers stop and any stored identifiers are cleared on the next page load.
